Be part of the action! Join us in Brainerd for Special Olympics Minnesota’s 2025 State Bowling competition. Volunteers make this event possible by helping athletes compete, celebrate, and shine.

Support athletes at the lanes, assist with scorekeeping, help with awards, or greet families and teams. No bowling experience is required—just bring your energy and encouragement.

Morning and afternoon shifts are available, each lasting about 3–4 hours. Sign up for one or more depending on your schedule.

Individuals, families, friends, service groups, and corporate teams are all welcome. Volunteers ages 15+ are recommended; those under 15 may help alongside a parent or guardian.

Every role contributes to a smooth, fun competition and ensures athletes feel celebrated for their achievements.

Special Olympics Minnesota provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

We organize and conduct sports training and competition programs throughout Minnesota for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Our programs include basketball, bowling, cycling, golf, gymnastics, soccer, swimming, track and field, and many other sports. We also provide health screenings, educational opportunities, and community engagement activities.
