Northland Area Family Center is open to community-minded individuals  who are passionate about strengthening the Remer area and supporting children, individuals, families, and our communities. 

Board members help provide strategic direction, ensure sound governance, support the organization's mission, and serve as ambassadors within the community. This is a volunteer leadership position that offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of local families.

We welcome individuals with a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and professional skills. Because our board is actively engaged in the work of the organization, we are especially interested in individuals who have strong connections to the Remer and surrounding communities and who are able to participate regularly in board meetings and local events.

Northland Area Family Service Center is an independent non-profit 501(c)3 organization physically located in Remer, Minnesota. We serve residents living in the entire Northland School District. Begun by a group of concerned citizens whose goal was to support families in our area by making them stronger, the Family Center has continued to serve area residents since 1996 through the collaborative efforts of public and private agencies, community members and Northland Community Schools. The Family Center continues to reach out to the community by developing programs that build on the strengths of all participants.

With compassion and respect, we provide education, mentoring and support services that build strong individuals and families in the Northland Community. Our programming and services includes Family Center Preschool for 3 year olds, Family Center Home Visiting, ParentChild+,  Child and Teen Well Child Check-ups outreach, Family Support and MNSure Navigator.
