Looking for something to do to fulfill your need to 'help others'? Have the desire to "make a difference"? Want to see little "miracles "happen? Love seeing "smiles on the faces of children and adults"? Have a desire to "interact with horses"? We've got you covered on all these! Come join us at Mounted Eagles as a volunteer who makes a difference in the lives of individuals who face cognitive, physical, social and/or emotional challenges. Get personally rewarded every week when you interact with the riders and the horses. Are you a PT or OT student or a retired PT or OT or a current PT or OT who is looking for some volunteer opportunities? Why not join Mounted Eagles as an Equicizer Instructor! We have a need for a volunteer in our Equicizer area to instruct our clients with core strength stretches and proper hand and leg positioning while riding their horse.
An Equicizer is a non-motorized 'horse' that moves only when the rider moves his/her body. It was developed by an injured jockey who needed a method of rehabilitating his body so he could ride again. We use it as part of our lesson plan to loosen joints, build core strength and teach proper positioning of the body on the real horse.
We would welcome your expertise to complete the lesson content for each of our riders. Contact us for more information about this position. call: 218.454.3228 email: [email protected] or Message us on FB. Scan the barcode below to fill out your application online.
We have a great training program, so no experience is necessary. We have flexible schedules and can work with the times that work for you. You can stop in at the barn any Monday 3-7pm, Tuesday 9:30am-3:00pm, Wednesday Noon-6:00pm or Thursday 3-7pm and watch what we do. Choose to come one day a week or more if you care to.
Fill out your application now at www.mountedeagles.org under the Get Involved Tab or use the QR code in the photos to take you directly to the application.
