Facilitator

Lakes Area Restorative Justice Project

Our facilitators are the heart of the organization! It is more time consuming of an opportunity than the community member or board member, but it is very rewarding to see the transformation of our youth. A facilitator helps guide the process and uses their skills to make sure the conference goes smoothly. They also assist in follow-up after the conference to make sure the youth has completed their contract.
Additional Details
  • We require our facilitators to attend 16 hours' worth of training before facilitating conferences.

Who We Are
LARJP is a community directed, operated and supported non-profit organization that uses Restorative Practices as an alternative to the traditional juvenile court system.
What We Do
Restorative Justice gives voice to those impacted by a crime, the youth that have caused harm and the community. We shift the focus from punishment to repairing the harm and building the community. LARJP provides a forum for youth that have caused harm and their families, those impacted by harm, and their supporters to meet in a safe and respectful environment to discuss the incident and to decide on how to repair the harm done.
